Torryburn was acquired by the Cornish family
in 2002.
The family immediately embarked on an extensive programme to add
to and improve the already substantial horse breeding infrastructure.
The programme included new barns, a Vet complex, feed storage and
the construction of kilometres of fencing.
Two adjoining properties were also acquired, which are currently
under development, as well as a substantial frontage to the magnificent
Allyn River and the necessary water licences.
The work has involved the installation of almost 3km of irrigation
and approximately 70 megs of off river storage has been added to
the 14 existing dams.
Torryburn is now a small village in its own right with most staff
living on, or close to the property. The farm produces much of the
daily needs of its residents.
Torryburn is now 'home' to hundreds of mares, foals, weanlings, yearlings
and spellers and each breeding season sees well over a hundred mares
foal down.
