Filly tests patience but brings joy

Kerrin McEvoy showed his skill when steering Toryjoy to her maiden win at Warwick Farm on Wednesday, bringing some long awaited gratification for the team at Chris Waller Racing and Torryburn Stud. Having tested the patience of the trainer, riders and owners over the early stages of her career, the 3yo Street Cry filly held off Monsieur Sisu in a tight margin win over 1300m. Keeping her distances shorter while she learns her trade, Toryjoy will have benefited enormously from this win. Chris has strategically placed her in competitive races over the shorter distances to encourage her to mature mentally before stepping her up in distance where we know we should see her true potential. A great result for the team.
