Kikongo Wins Again!

A homebred for Torryburn Stud, improving High Chaparral (IRE) mare Kikongo made it back to back wins at Hawkesbury when scoring a stylish victory on Saturday 5 December.

Pictured here at trackwork last week and prepared by Peter and Paul Snowden, Kikongo was favourite for the Class One event over 2000 metres and scored by half a length, her second win from eight starts.

Passed in shy of her $230,000 reserve at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Kikongo was retained to race and is a half-sister to Group II placed Ryker.

She is the fourth winner from four to race from well-bred import Mambo Chatte (USA), who died in 2012, so will be a nice addition for the Torryburn Stud broodmare band when her racing days are done.
