Prawn swims to top in G2 Premier Bowl

Hot King Prawn added further black type on 21 October claiming the G2 Premier Bowl  at Sha Tin with Sam Clipperton on board.

Clipperton claimed the win as his biggest in Hong Kong and thanked trainer John Size for continuing to support him. Sounding a little in awe of the scope of the 4yo Denman gelding, Clipperton commented "I was a bit worried about how much speed was drawn inside and whether we would get a smooth run, but Hot King Prawn musters so much speed in such a short time out of the barriers that he takes all that out of the equation and that's what good sprinters do".

"We got across the field within a hundred metres and from then on it was pretty much all over. I was able to throw the brakes on and because I got those cheap sectionals mid race it was always going to be very hard for them to run us down", he added.

The win was a pre-curser for further great news here at Torryburn with Hot King Prawn's dam De Chorus this week producing a lovey grey half brother to the sprinting star. The grey colt joins the first crop of foals forNewgate Farm'sGolden Slipper winner Capitalist.

Hot King Prawn's half sisterThe Soloist, who impressed for Richard Freedman during her first preparation returned to pre-training last week looking stronger than ever. We look forward to seeing what she can achieve this prep.
