Torryburn Sold Winner Gives Christmas Cheer

Cranbourne, December 27 - Providing some belated Christmas cheer for Mornington trainer Sam Pritchard-Gordon at Cranbourne on Friday was Tale of the Cat (USA) three year-old Barcelona Bound, a $35,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the draft of Torryburn Stud.

Resuming from a spell of 40 weeks following an unplaced debut back in March, Barcelona Bound stormed to the lead turning for home and went to the line strongly to win the 1200 metre maiden by a short neck.

Bred by Torryburn Stud, Barcelona Bound is the third winner from three foals to race for Watch My Lips, a Royal Academy (USA) daughter of Group II winner Mardi’s Magic from the family of champion miler Racing to Win and Group I producing sire Purrealist.

The current yearling from Barcelona Bound is a filly by Domesday that will be offered by Torryburn Stud at the 2014 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale as Lot 473.

Torryburn Stud will also be selling at Magic Millions with a select draft of six for themselves and clients including a half-brother to Group II winning juvenile Brightexpectations and a half-sister to champion Japanese trained mare Better Life.
