Winning Weekend for Torryburn

Kicking off a great weekend at the track for Torryburn horses was a second placing for the Gerald Ryan trained Fastnet Rock colt Deploy at Randwick and up the road in Newcastle, Sirius Spy landed a third for trainer Todd Howlett.  Both horses traveled well in heavy conditions.

The corks started popping however when Taltarni traveled beautifully to win for trainer Craig Carmody at Doomben bringing her prize money to just over $100K.

Storm Siren then followed up with a win in Newcastle.  The filly by Excites is a half sister to the Denman x De Chorus colt entered to the Torryburn draft at this years Inglis Classic Yearling sale which commences in just under two weeks' time.

Another Newcastle success saw Swaane win at Newcastle for trainer Jason Deamer and her huge crew of owners.  Bennelong Bloodstock bred and out of resident Torryburn mare Unconditional Love, this is her second win in just over a month.  Unconditional Love visited Sebring in 2015.

Sunday kept the wins flowing with another of the grey brigade Daisy Duke flying home for a two and a half length win at Wyong.  Starting fair, the mare continued to travel very strongly on the bit to the corner and upon straightening, when asked to level out, she responded really well to go on to the line to win with authority.

Moving to Hong  Kong and opening his account with a fast finishing win at Sha Tin on Sunday was lightly raced three year-old Socket King (pictured). A $100,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Scone Bloodstock Services from the draft of Torryburn Stud, prepared by Dennis Yip and ridden by Zac Purton, Socket King powered home to win over 1200 metres by a short head at his fourth start. By Not a Single Doubt, Socket King was bred by Torryburn Stud is the second winner for US stakes-winner Ready to Live (USA), a More Than Ready half-sister to the dam of Group I winner Itsmyluckyday. Ready to Live produced a Smart Missile filly last year and was then covered by Epaulette.
